Von's Journey Book One: Wiped (Based on the game Conker)

Von Kripplespeck, a ‘Teddi’ commander and Sneaker was fighting against the Squirrels, their arch enemies in a desolate planet. Bullets zoomed around in the midst of a huge battle. Bullets whizzed and wined thudding into the enemy factions. Heavy gunfire burst from tanks and artillery as Smoke rose in clouds and deafening explosions erupted. Bodies were scatted throughout the hellish, hilled landscape. Blood pooled in the low crevices. Some lay on the ground between life and death adding to the tumult with cries of agony and sobs of anguish. This battle had already claimed many casualties but would continue for many hours yet. Some of both factions drove buggies to give them extra speed and more defense as they shot out of it.

Sneakers are masters of glowing, slightly curved swords called Sabres. They have defensive abilities and load up with a little amount of grenades. They are masters of stealth. They are more close-range fighters then anything and they are quite fit. They will dodge lots of shots so if you fight one you must keep moving back. They are the ninjas of both races.

Squirrel Sneakers were nearing the Teddis’ front lines, but the Teddis kept firing at them. The Sneakers used a special ability which creates a blue force-field around them. They hold their sabres in front of them and they block all the attacks as well at the force-field. They cannot attack while using it but and they’re slower, but at least it gets them close. The Teddi infantry stand their ground, although shaking with fear.

“Teddi Sneakers charge!” Von ordered.

Von and many other Teddy Sneakers ran towards their front line to defend against the Squirrels. Von jumped towards one. The Squirrel turned and got into a fighting stance, ready for Von. Von did some tricks to impress the victim. He turned the sabre and swung it around to mess with him before going in and taking he kill, literally.

Von thrust his sabre at the Squirrel. The Squirrel parried it with his sabre. Von turned around and tried to stab the Squirrel. He missed as the Squirrel thrust his sabre at Von. The Teddi gunner beside them turned around at shot at the Squirrel. The Squirrel fell down dead. Von looked at the gunner. He nodded in appreciation as he smiled under his mask. Von panted under his suit. It is suicide running in a hot place like this, he thought.

A ship was flying towards their base. Von reached into his backpack and grabbed a green grenade and pulled out the pin and threw it at the ship. As the grenade hit, it exploded and the ship blew up sending shrapnel everywhere. Von hid behind the sandbags in front of him. The Teddi beside him got hit by some shrapnel and died. Close call, he thought. The heat made him sweat more.

Von sprinted back to his base. A bazooka handling Squirrel shot at him, it landed around 30 metres behind him. A hole was left in the ground after a small explosion. Von went flying. Once he landed, he slowly got up turned around reached into his bag and got a red grenade. He pulled out the pin and threw it. As it hit the ground, lightning flew out from it and through the Squirrel.

He continued to run back to his base and away from the fighting. He heard footsteps around the corner as he got in. He held his sabre, ready to fight. He is deadly when he surprises his victims.

“Who’s there?!” Von shouted with a loud, deep voice.

“Ha-ha” Laughed a voice, almost growling.

“Oh… It’s you…” Von said stunned, “My king…”

Von sighed and put his sabre back into its sheath on his back. A Panther in a robe and a crown walked from around the corner.

“Hello Von Kripplespeck.” The Panther King replied.

“My lord, the battle is not going well, they have a lot more planes, men and… uh… that’s all.” Von quickly said.

“Still we might win?” The Panther King asked.

“We might win.” Von answered.

“Ok then. Well I will be up the top of this fortress watching the battle.” The Panther King said.

“Anything else my lord?” Von asked.

“Oh yes, apparently a Squirrel called Conker is to assassinate you,” The Panther King replied, “Be careful.”

Von nodded his head then bowed then walked past the Panther King. He walked down to the ammunitions room and stuffed some grenades into his backpack. He put his head out of the door then peered around. He then slowly walked down the corridor.

A silver spaceship, shining in the bright light landed on the Squirrels’ fortress. Von looked at the battle and Squirrel fortress. He looked at the landscape. He saw a way around the battle to the Squirrel base. It had small hills to cover him and to stop him being seen. He slowly snuck to where he was thinking, ducking all along.

As he reached the fortress the two Squirrel Sneaker guards ran at Von. Von stabbed one in the chest then swiped at the other. The Sneaker parried as Von turned around striking the Sneaker from its left. The Squirrel screamed in pain as it dropped its sabre and fell onto the ground.

Von walked in. He started running to find a way to find a good spot to blow up the fortress. Conker will be here, He thought, I will kill him soon. He kept on running before there was a loud ping on the ground beside him. He stopped in his footsteps.

“Only good enemies would get in here.” A voice behind him said, “You must be Von.”

“Good guess.” Von replied, laughing.

Von turned around seeing a Squirrel in normal war gear. He seemed young but he defiantly was a great fighter.

“I’m guessing your Conker.” Von said.

“Good guess.” He replied smiling.

“We meet at last” Von laughed cheerfully, “Nice to MEAT you.”

Conker stopped smiling. “Ha, ha, ha.” Conker said sarcastically, his face mocking Von.

Von grabbed his sabre and threw it at Conker. Conker dodged and aimed his gun at Von. Von grabbed a normal grenade out of his backpack, pulled the pin and threw it at Conker. Conker dived back as the grenade exploded. The gun flew out of Conkers hands in mid-air. Conker landed and skid across the ground. He jumped up onto his feet as the smoke started to clear. He just saw Von running away from him.

Conker started running after Von. Conker started to catch up. Von saw him and cursed. Conker tried to tackle Von but missed. Von didn’t know where he was going but he wanted to get away from Conker. Two guards were down the hall from Von. Von charged at them as they aimed their guns at him. Von jumped and landed hard on the guards and he grabbed their guns off them.

He quickly shot them both then aimed at Conker who just saw Von a couple of metres in front of him with two guns. Conker dived to the side as Von started shooting. Von stopped shooting and chucked the guns on the ground and started running again.

He ran up some long stairs. He found himself on the top of the fortress. There was a big ship in front of him. Flame spurted out of the bottom of the ship as it started hovering. Von looked at the battlefield. It was deserted. Von looked back at the ship. It was getting higher. Von grabbed his sabre and charged at the ship. He stuck the sabre through the ships wall. He held on to the sabre as the ship started flying forward. Von carefully cut a space in the ship to get through. An alarm started sounding.

The big metal door opened revealing two Squirrel guards. Von ran for the door. He ran past the guards and rolled under the closing door. He just made it. He stood up. He looked down the hallway. A few Squirrels were aiming their guns at him. He ducked as the door behind him opened. The Squirrels started firing. They killed the two Squirrel guards. They stopped firing. The alarm stopped.

“Approaching the planet Lavash” A loudspeaker announced, “Space Jump in 5… 4… 3… 2… 1…”

The Squirrels panicked. Von kept still on the ground. The door closed behind him. Everything went blurry as the ship flew faster. Von flew against the metal door. The Squirrels went sliding towards the door. Von kept calm. The ship slowed down as Von fell to the ground and the Squirrels stopped sliding.

Von jumped to his feet and ran at the surprised Squirrels. They tried to aim at Von with their guns. Von punched one in the face and stole his gun. He shot the rest. He looked at the corpses. They all had I.D cards around their necks. He grabbed one. He went to the door. He inserted it into a space beside the metal door. It opened. Von stepped over the other two corpses and slowly walked to the hole.
He jumped out. He landed on a metal bridge. He looked over the side of it. It had a lava river under it. He walked towards the first fortress he saw. He looked into it. There stood The Panther King by himself. Von ran to him.

“Uh Von… look over there.” The Panther King said pointing behind Von as he got closer.

Von turned around and cursed. He saw a huge group of Squirrel Ninjas and Seekers. He looked back at the Panther King. He got into a fighting position. Von grabbed his sabre. He quickly got into a position too.

The ninjas and Seekers charged at them. Von just swiped them down fast. The Panther King was bashing them with his fists and feet. Von and the Panther King had a lot of trouble. It seemed like there was an unlimited amount of them. Lots of corpses and beaten Ninjas and Seekers were on the ground.

At the end Von and the Panther King was victorious but was really hurt. They were panting and trying to gain breath. They looked away from the entrance. A small group of Teddys ran around the corner. They were shocked at the sight of the ninjas, Seekers and Von.

A Teddy cursed, “That group took down both of these bases…” The Teddy continued, “And Von your alive!”

“Why… wouldn’t… I be?” Von said sarcastically, panting through it.

The Teddy group helped Von and The Panther King to get to their small ship on top of their fortress.

“Von…” The Panther King said ashamed sitting down in the ship, “We have to retreat back to Doom.”

“Our home planet!” Von shouted, also taking a seat.

Von dug his head into his paws through the hold trip. As the door opened letting him out into his orange planet, he walked into the base. He got changed into a new Seeker suit and grabbed another sabre replacing his other. He walked outside and looked into the sky. The sky was black because of Squirrel and Teddy warships flooding it.

He ran to his house. He shuffled around for his secret underground cave. Once he found it he opened up the hatch and climbed down the ladder and closing the hatch behind him. He lay down on the bed in it and fell asleep for a few hours.

As he woke up he climbed up the ladder and opened the hatch. He looked out of it. He climbed fully out. He looked at his empty planet and cried.

He walked around and tripped up. He stood up again and looked at the ground. There was a metal handle there. He got onto his knees and wiped away some dust. There was a metal hatch on the ground. He opened it and climbed down another ladder. He noticed he was in a spaceship hangar. He walked over to the small Spaceship. He opened the door and walked in. He opened the door to the cockpit and sat down in the chair. He pressed the lever in front of him forward.

A big amount of land opened up and the ship lunged forward. He held onto the lever with both hands. He sped away from his planet. He pressed a green button named Space Jump. The stars became lines and Von got pushed further into the chair. After a few seconds the ship slowed down a lot and he saw himself going towards a jungle and sea planet.

Something hit the back of the ship. He got pushed forward from the hit. He pushed the lever forward as far as it could go. He started flying fast towards the planet, away from whatever hit his ship.
